The working principle of cement tanker

What is cement tanker?

Cement tanker is known as cement tanker trailer, which is a kinds of powder tanker trailer. Cement tanker is used to transport cement, lime powder, coal powder and any bulk dry powder with a diameter less than 0.1mm. The cement bulker is composed of a specially designed chassis, air line system, tank body and discharging system.

Generally speaking, cement tanker is usually being used in in cement plants, construction sites, etc. It is a special vehicle, which is widely used in industry, agriculture, commerce, power plants, construction, and so on. Cement bulkers can reduce many costs of packaging and unloading.


Types of cement bulker tanker

There are mainly two types of cement tanker. One is w-shape and the other is v-shape. Most cement tankers use v-shaped. Generally, a w-shape cement bulker is used when transporting flour.

Why cement tanker trailer is used to transport dry bulk cement?

Simple and convenient:

The loading part of the cement tanker is mainly composed of tank body, piping systems, transmission systems, auxiliary devices and unloading devices.

Tank head: The tank head is with standard oval shape, and its main specifications are EH2300, EH2400, EH2500, EH2600, EH2700mm.

Tank body: The material can be carbon steel or aluminum alloy. Carbon steel mainly uses Q345 and Q370.

Manhole cover: diameter: 700mm; generally there are 2 to 4 on the top. The manhole cover generally uses the inner buckle air intake cover, (after loading, the height is 100mm lower than the external pressure spring lifting structure, which is more troublesome to operate), and the three-jaw external pressure manhole cover (higher height and more convenient to operate). The inner buckle manhole cover is widely used.

Transmission system: it consists of power take-off device, transmission shaft, air compressor (rated working pressure is 0.2mpa), etc. Generally speaking, there is a tachometer outside the air compressor to constantly monitor the speed of the air compressor. We can adjust the speed of the air compressor by adjusting the throttle controller.

Pipeline system: After the air is output from the air compressor, the air will enter each compartment through check valve and ball valve. There are safety valves in front and behind the check valve to prevent excessive pressure from damaging the pipeline. The rated pressure of the safety valve is 0.2mpa. The secondary auxiliary blow molding pipeline plays an auxiliary role when discharging. Ball valves, rubber hoses and auxiliary blowing valves can prevent powder from entering the pipeline.

Discharging system: The discharge pipe is mainly with an inlet, a butterfly valve (the sealing ring is made of rubber, which can be replaced at any time when damaged), a discharging pipe joint, a discharging steel pipe, a discharge hose (a wear-resistant steel wire rubber hose with diameter of 102 mm) and so on. The storage tank is equipped with a pressure gauge to monitor the pressure change of the tank and discharge materials better.

Discharging distance: the vertical height of unloading distance is 15m, and the horizontal distance is 5m.

Discharging speed: when the working pressure is 0.2Mpa, the unloading speed is ≥1.2 ton/min, and the unloading rate is ≥97%.


How does cement tanker work?

The working principle of cement tanker is the principle of fluidization.

When the mixture of powder and air reaches a certain ratio, the powder can have some liquid properties and can flow with the air.

Fluidization actually refers to that powdered materials gradually change from the primitive static solid state to dynamic fluid state, which usually occurs when air or liquid flows upward through the particulate material.

Cement tanker uses a fluidized bed to add air to the tank through an air compressor, making the air and the powder are fully combined, so that the powder becomes a fluidized state. When the pressure inside the tank reaches 0.2mpa, the pressure inside the tank is greater than the pressure outside, and then open the discharge valve, the powder in the fluidized state will flow out of the tank through the discharge pipe like liquid, so as to reach the place where we need to discharge.


How do you unload a cement tanker?

When the cement tanker is running, you should pay attention to the following things:

The air pressure of the air compressor is 0.2Mpa, which should not exceed this pressure when working.

We cannot change the direction of the air compressor.

After the air compressor has been running for about 30 hours, we need to perform maintenance to extend the life of the air compressor.
